Robert Ku was born in Shanghai in 1929. He started painting when he was ten years old and was influenced by his father Ku Kwanpak (landscape painter, educator).  In 1949 Mr. Ku left Shanghai for Hong Kong to work in the textile industry and later in the toy industry from 1966 to 1990. During his career as a businessman, he was too busy to practice Chinese painting. His career as an artist did not quite start until his retirement. After moving to Canada, he travels, paints, and exhibits his art. This leisurely lifestyle of traveling, along with his study of Chinese Art, changed the expressions found in his paintings. This exhibition is to invite viewers' comments and discussions.
1988    Honourary Instructor, Shanghai Institute of Chinese Painting, Shanghai, China
1990    Special Instructor, China Academy of Art, Zhejiang, Chinatown
